A Few thoughts on how you can personalize your Dala Horse Counted Cross Stitch Pattern:

• Only stitch the horse itself and not the background.  The finished project will look like it is a raised embossed project.

• Outline the horse by backstitching around the horse in a color one shade darker that the color you are stitching in. It will Pop!

• The white designs within the horse add another strand of floss so that it is thicker than the horse this will add interest and texture to the finished project.

• Stitch the white saddle or bridle part of the horse in a complimentary but contrasting color.

• Outline the entire square picture with 2 or 3 row border or frame in  a complimentary color.
