After 1945, he earned his living primarily as an illustrator for women's magazines and through various commercial art assignments. Alongside this work, he continued to pursue painting, focusing mainly on\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003ebijin-ga, the genre depicting beautiful women that has a long tradition in Japanese art.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHis bijin-ga compositions are characterized by elegant, slender female figures, often shown with elongated necks and refined facial features. It is widely believed that the recurring model in many of his works was his wife.
